Cool and Windy
Posted by Vivian Gonzalez
A cool Thursday is underway... We had a weak cold front move through leaving clouds behind. Those clouds acted like a blanket and not allowing temperatures to tumble below 70 degrees. However, there has been a nice cool change in the air. The humidity is low and with the strong wind picking up along the coast, it has helped temperatures feel much cooler. Around other parts of Florida where the clouds cleared, temperatures tumbled into the 30s and 50s.
The wind will be the main concern going into Saturday. It should go from windy to breezy on Friday. In the meantime, increasing wind and seas are prompting advisories for boaters and swimmers. Improvements can be expected by Saturday afternoon.
Computer models are showing some changes... The very same cold front that crossed through South Florida will be lifting back North as a warm front on Friday night. That means clouds and a chance of showers returns. Model guidance is suggesting a 50% chance is in the forecast. For now, look for improvements out on the waters over the weekend, but the clouds and rain may damper your plans.
Have a wonderful Thursday and make it a safe one!
