Few and Fast

Any showers (or thunderstorms) that evolve this weekend will be "in and out" rapidly. If you encounter one of these, prepare to move indoors for a few minutes... as these will be helped-along quickly by the ocean breeze.
Because we have an onshore pattern in place, beware at area beaches: there's a threat for rip currents. Meanwhile, the same easterly breeze will help you deal with high levels of heat and humidity... with very limited areas of rain around.
In the tropics, former storm "Erin" was recently downgraded to a tropical depression. Tropical Depression Erin is very distant (on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean) and isn't likely to last much longer as a tropical system. The very latest forecast calls for it to weaken and even dissipate over the next few days!
