Daily Weather Blog

Another round of strong showers and thunderstorms possible today...

We have been stuck in a persistent pattern the last couple of days and now the forecast models are suggesting that it may stick around through the middle of next week.

What does this mean for our holiday weekend? Steering winds in the upper atmosphere will remain out of the Southwest and surface winds out of the Southeast. Therefore, with the daytime heat, clouds will start to build and produce showers thunderstorms that will be pushed over the Western fringes of South Florida. Also, steering winds in the upper air will most likely push some moisture into the metro areas as well.... It is a seasonal forecast with a 50% chance of rain throughout the day and clearing by the evening, just in time for the fireworks!

Tropical update: The National Hurricane Center is referencing a non-tropical low 1100 miles West-Southwest of the Azores moving East at 10mph. Showers and thunderstorms are well displaced from the low-level circulation. However, it has less than a 30% chance of development.

Remember to stay safe and informed with your storm station this holiday weekend!
