
Wade remembering his roots, getting high school court upgraded
MIAMI (AP) -- Years after graduating, Dwyane Wade is still putting on quite a show at his old high school.
The Miami Heat guard and N-B-A finals M-V-P announced plans today to remodel the gym at his alma mater in a Chicago suburb.
Wade unveiled the plan at a pep rally of over 17-hundrted students at Richards High in Oak Lawn, Illinois.
Academy Award winner Jennifer Hudson and Grammy winner Kanye West, both Chicago natives. were also on hand.
The school has already received a new scoreboard, projection screen, and sound system. Renovated bleachers and refinished hardwood floors are both on the way.
