Former NBA athlete accused of having sex with minor
KENDALL, Fla. (WSVN) -- A former NBA athlete accused of having unlawful sex with a minor has bonded out of jail Thursday morning.
Vincent Askew is accused of having sex with a 16-year-old girl at a Ramada Inn on the 7600 Block of Kendall Drive.
Askew, 43, used to play with the Seattle Supersonics and the Indiana Pacers. Askew was employed by Gulliver Preparatory School last year.
Askew was a candidate for a basketball coach at Gulliver, however he was just a student supervisor at the time of the incident. Police said Askew told the girl, he was recruiting players for the girl's basketball team.
The girl is not a student at Gulliver.
