Judge orders girls accused of vandalizing school to perform community service

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. (WSVN) -- A judge has ordered the three young girls accused of vandalizing their elementary school to perform community service.
Police said Anny Rivera, 12, Savannah Rivera, 10, and Michelle Gomez, 10, broke into Lake Forest Elementary School Sunday afternoon, before spray-painting walls and kicking over garbage cans.
Officials were stunned at how much damage was done by the young girls. "It had looked like a hurricane came through this room," said Mike Jachles of the Broward County Sheriff's Office. "Surveillance tape on the campus provided a clear idea of who these three juveniles were. If you saw the damage, shelving, computer equipment, televisions, books, walls, there were holes in the walls. It's disturbing to know that those little girls could do such a devastating thing."
Police said the girls claimed they were mad at the school. "They said that because they were mad about a function that occurred during their fifth grade year," said Jon Lawrence of the BSO Criminal Investigation.
