Activist groups plans to protest police shooting of black teen

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) -- An activist group plans another demonstration to protest the fatal shooting death of a black teenager by a white St. Petersburg police officer.
International People's Democratic Uhuru Movement says it will protest Thursday outside the county criminal justice center.
The group says it will again call for State Attorney Bernie McCabe to be removed from the investigation of the June 7th killing of 17-year-old Javon Dawson.
The group claims McCabe's office can't be objective because the officer who killed Dawson has been a witness in other cases prosecuted by McCabe's office. McCabe has dismissed that claim.
Police say Dawson was firing a handgun in the air during a crowded graduation party and pointed it at the officer before he was shot.
