Osama Bin Laden doll found inside toy machine
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WSVN) -- A doll bearing Osama Bin Laden's likeness made its way into a toy machine at a South Florida restaurant.
Robert Manza was at a Fuddruckers restaurant in Pembroke Pines when he tried to win a stuffed doll for his daughter Sarah. The game has a grappling hook that is used to snatch stuffed animals and dolls. Instead of grabbing a stuffed teddy bear, Manza grabbed an Osama Bin Laden doll.
Sarah's mother and father are both firefighters, and they were not amused to win Osama Bin Laden at the Fuddruckers restaurant. "I think it was in real bad taste for somebody to put this in a vending machine in America," said Robert Manza, Sarah's father.
The owner of the restaurant felt the same way and immediately called the owner of the vending machine to check for any more Osama dolls. However, it appears that the doll was planted as a joke. "That's not funny, you know. This is something that we cannot let go on," said Marcello Montalvan, the restaurant's owner.
Now that he has it in his possession, Manza wondered what he would do with the doll. "I don't know what I should do with it, cut its head off, blow it up or shoot it or what," said Manza. In the end, he and some friends shot it up at a firing range.
As for the practical joker, that person appears to be in New York City, which is where all eight companies that provide these stuffed dolls are based. As for the doll itself, it was made in China.
