Pedestrian struck on Palmetto Expressway

MIAMI (WSVN) -- Four southbound lanes of a major South Florida highway had to be shut down after a pedestrian was struck by a car.

According to the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident with injuries happened on the Palmetto Expressway at Northwest 74th Street in Medley Wednesday morning.

The victim, a 16-year-old male, was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital. His condition is unknown.
