Alligator ties up morning rush hour
NORTH LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Authorities have captured a large alligator that showed up on the side of the road during the morning commute Tuesday.
At 7:45 a.m., Broward Sheriff's Officers used a police cruiser, blocking a southbound lane of Bailey Road on the approach to 441, to keep the alligator from crossing into the road.
Fifteen minutes later wildlife authorities showed up, and the road had to be closed to traffic. An official quickly wrangled the large gator, tied him up.
The roadside reptile backed up traffic, but the road re-opened soon after its capture.
After wildlife experts tied him up, they loaded him into the back of a pickup truck to most likely release him into the Everglades.
