O.J. Simpson's girlfriend hospitalized

MIAMI (WSVN) -- O.J. Simpson's girlfriend is in intensive care after she suffered an unexplained serious head injury.

According to officials, an anonymous caller reported a female that fell at a gas station in Kendall on Monday. It was Christie Prody. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded and took Simpson's long-time girlfriend to Baptist Hospital with trauma to her body, where she remains in the intensive care unit. Police were never notified that she was brought to the hospital.

Tuesday, police went to the hospital to speak to Prody, but could not due to her condition. Simpson was contacted by police. He explained they were in San Antonio for the Super Bowl and Prody was always falling down during their trip. Simpson flew back to Miami. However, he told police, Prody was too intoxicated to fly and was not able to board the flight. Prody finally returned to Miami on Sunday, a week after the Super Bowl.

Simpson is not considered a suspect. It is not considered a criminal case.
