12-year-old Lutz boy wins national BMX race
LUTZ, Fla. (AP) -- A 12-year-old boy from Lutz is a national champion in BMX racing.
Tyler Heinrichs beat out hundreds of riders in his class at the President's Cup and Christmas Classic last month in Columbus, Ohio.
It was Tyler's first national race.
Tyler practices at the Tampa BMX Raceway, which his father owns.
BMX will be a medal sport for the first time at the Beijing Summer Olympics in August. Tyler is targeting the 2012 Games in London.
