Man shoots dog to death after attack

TAMARAC, Fla. (WSVN) -- A man was rushed to the hospital after he was attacked by the neighbors dog, whom he shot to death.

According to officials, a pit bull named Trouble escaped through a screened-in porch and attacked a neighbor. Trouble lived with a family, and another pitbull on the 4500 block of Northwest 16th Way.

Police said the neighbor tried to get the dogs out of his backyard and back to their home. "Trouble" attacked the neighbor biting him several times in the leg. The victim, who carries a concealed weapons permit then shot the dog to death.

The boxer was taken away by Broward County Animal Regulation.

The Tamarac Fire Department transported the victim to Broward General Hospital. It is still unclear if the owner of the dogs will face any charges.
