HIALEAH, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police are searching for three armed suspects after they fled from Zoe's Juice Palace when the elderly security guard working there fought them off.

Surveillance video captured the dramatic scene when the guard, who Hialeah police say is 71 years old and has military experience, confronted two men after he noticed them acting suspiciously. After a brief confrontation he kicked a gun out of one of the suspect's hands and shot at them as they fled.

The face-off unfolded at the juice store located on West 24 Street and 78 Avenue at about 3:15 Monday morning. They were last seen fleeing east on 78 Street in a dark car.

Police say at least two of the suspects were both short, white males with slender builds. One suspect had a white T-shirt on his head and a red bandanna covering his nose and mouth. The other suspect is described as wearing all black and a Halloween mask. A third suspect, who could not be distinguished, drove the getaway car.

The owner of juice store said he believed the guard could have killed the suspects if he wanted to but only fired warning shots, as they ran from the scene.

If you have any information on these suspects, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a reward.
