MIAMI SHORES, Fla. (WSVN) -- Residents in an upscale community are concerned about the rise of robberies in their neighborhood. Most recently, surveillance video rolled as a man smashed a vehicle's window and stole a high-priced item, while the owners of the car were just a few feet away.

In broad daylight, a man approached a BMW parked in a driveway and smashed the passenger side window, stealing a GPS system and some cash.

The victim, who did not wish to give her name, says she moved to Miami Shores to live in a nice and safe neighborhood. "I moved to Miami Shores just to be in a safe area," she said. "I live on a one-way street, and I live in Miami Shores. I figure I'm living in a nice neighborhood."

Someone already robbed the family, just three months prior to this incident, so they decided to spend almost $5,000 on a surveillance system.

Police say just after this break-in occurred, another house was burglarized and ransacked down the street.
