Gay library to move to city building

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) -- A Fort Lauderdale city building may soon be housing more than just government employees. It could include hard core pornography.

The city commission voted 3-2 to allow a gay-interest library to move into the building.

Mayor Jim Naugle said he is troubled to think a city building could house materials with content people have been arrested for in the past.

The Stonewall Library bills itself as one of the nation's largest collections of gay and lesbian literature.

The vote followed recent tensions between the city's gay community and Naugle.
