Diver struck and killed by boat at sea
KEY BISCAYNE, Fla. (WSVN) -- A tragedy at sea has left a man dead after a boat hit and killed him while he was scuba diving.
According to authorities, Ricardo Araujo and some friends were diving just four miles southeast of Key Biscayne when a 70-foot boat struck him.
Araujo, of Hialeah Gardens, was rushed to "No Name Harbor" by his fellow boaters where Miami-Dade Fire Rescue attempted to treat his injuries. He was eventually airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital where he later died.
The boat also hit a second diver in the water, grazing his diving fins. Thankfully, he suffered no injuries.
Officials are now investigating this accident.
