Man who jumped out of plane makes first appearance in Broward court

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) -- The man who jumped out of a plane and onto the tarmac made his first appearance in Broward County bond court this morning.
Troy Rigby of Pompano Beach is being held in the county jail. He's charged with criminal mischief, obstruction with violence, possession of marijuana, battery on an officer/firefighter, aggravated battery and battery.
The Broward County sheriff's office says the 28-year-old started yelling to get off a Continental Airlines flight yesterday that had been delayed for about 30 minutes.
Authorities say he ran to the front of the plane and banged on windows and the cockpit door before passengers and crew members tried to restrain him. Another passenger was bitten.
When the pilot depressurized the cabin, the man opened a door, jumped to the tarmac and ran toward the terminal. Deputies say they zapped him with a stun gun after he resisted arrest.
