Officer accused of speeding case under investigation

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (WSVN) -- A City of Miami internal affairs report is recommending an officer who was caught speeding should be fired.
A state trooper pulled over officer Fausto Lopez on the Turnpike in Hollywood last October, after the trooper clocked him speeding at over 100 miles per hour.
Lopez pled no contest, paid fines, agreed to community service and avoided jailtime.
According to the internal affairs report, Lopez regularly sped in his city-issued cruiser while off duty. That was determined by analyzing Sunpass data.
Miami's Police Chief must now make the decision whether to fire him or not.
